This is FREE evening hike is being held at Eggers Grove and is SURE to bring the night life vibes for our nocturnal animals.

We will be joining the staff from the Forest Preservers of Cook County (south zone team) as we hike and look for Easter Screech owls, Great Horned Owls, Barred Owls and maybe even the state-endangered Short-Eared Owl.
We may even be surprised by some visiting little brown bats.

  • Dress for the outdoors. Sturdy shoes suggested as we'll be hiking the back (unpaved) trail.

  • Low lights and glow sticks are preferred for if needed

  • The trail length is approx. 1.2 miles

  • Bring water and perhaps some bug spray.

  • Restrooms will be open prior to the hike.

Low LED lights/ lanterns will be provided to reduce light pollution.
We will encourage low level conversations to reduce noise pollution.

All ages welcome.
