MLK Day of Service at Eggers Grove
Details
Join me and the staff of the Forest Preserves of Cook County, south zone team hosting a Day of Service honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
We will be meeting at Eggers Grove, warming house, and start the day with honoring his legacy, reciting the Land Acknowledgement, and assigning service tasks.
This is a day that will be filled with forest restoration, clean-up and conservation assignments.
What will I be doing?
Clearing invasive brush, trees and plants (like buckthorn).
Picking up any garbage on or around the trails and pavilions.
What should I wear?
Dress for the weather and outdoor work in high brush and dirt. (There may be some mud by the water). Sturdy shoes and warm socks.
What do I need to bring?
The Forest Preserves will provide all of the equipment like googles, gloves, loppers, buckets, hand and feet warmers, etc. If you have your own work gloves, please bring them.
As a THANK YOU, there will be hot beverages and SMORES!
