Our meetup group has been recruited by the WordPress foundation to start hosting do_action events and will begin on Thursday June 13 and Saturday June 15.
The aim of a do_action event is two-fold:

  1. To use our knowledge of WordPress to help a local not-for-profit on a web related project
  2. To use this opportunity to exchange ideas and techniques – a sort of mini WordCamp

Our project will be to customize a WordPress site using full site editing methodology for “Breakthrough Karate” - an organization that teaches people with Parkinson’s disease to use karate exercises to help retain better body control.
We have two scheduled sessions:
Thursday (6/13) 7-9pm
Saturday (6/15) 2:30-5;30pm

If you want to help, to lurk, or come to learn… you are welcome!

We are very grateful to our sponsors:
A2 Hosting – for donating three years of hosting for the website
CoLab Evanston – for graciously allowing us to use their wonderful workspace AND offering all members of our Meetup group a 50% discount for the first month on all plans (except daily passes).
