Demystifying Deep Learning: Hands-on Workshop

Chicago WiMLDS + Women Who Code are teaming up to host our next event!

Have you been hearing the words “deep learning” and “neural networks” and are curious to know more, but don’t know where to start? This event is for you!

First Lisa and Jane, Data Scientists at IDEO, will give a short (~30 minute) intro to neural networks and deep learning, how they work, and what they’re commonly used for. Then you’ll work in small groups to complete a hands-on “hello world” example using Keras, a deep learning Python library. After you finish the tutorial, there will be time to meet your fellow newly minted “deep learners.”

Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Requirements: No previous experience required. Some experience programming in Python recommended. Please bring a laptop with a working Python installation.
