What we’re about
A place for Chicago's nonfiction writers and editors of every experience level to share resources, workshop, offer advice, link to events, and connect with one another.
In a city like Chicago, packed with passionate writers and editors, it's worth recognizing that no two of us work, think, or write the same way. I'd like to leverage our diverse backgrounds and skillsets to create a collective advantage. The aim is to build a strong community of writers and editors that can share resources, offer advice, workshop drafts or pitches, and also just connect personally.
While this group, club, network (whatever you want to call it) is in its infancy, I know it will be a valuable resource for writers in Chicago looking to improve their craft and expand their reach. Whether you’re a thriving freelance journalist or yet to land a pitch, an editor-in-chief or the assistant-to-the-assistant-editor — we all have something unique to offer. If you’re thinking now that you might be over- or underqualified for a group like this, you’re exactly what a group like this needs.
We have a Discord group to get us started and to schedule a first virtual meeting, but the goal is to meet in person once we have enough interested people join.
