Tired of networking events that don't give you a chance to be introduced to everyone in a professional, useful way?

It's really important to know who is in the room when you attend an event - who you can help and who can help you. That's why we'll be going around the circle and giving everyone a chance to give a 30-second introduction, as we always do at our events.

But this time we are going to take that a step further. We used this format a couple of times in the past, and everyone said THEY LOVED IT. So we're doing it again...

"SMALL BIZ SPOTLIGHT NETWORKING & PRESENTATIONS"

We are going to invite 8 members to each give a 5-minute presentation.

Five will be done by random drawing of the attendees that are present and want to participate as a SpotLight Small Biz (three others will be our sponsors). If you would like the chance to give a 5-minute presentation at our Meetup, just let me know when you arrive, and I will put your name into the drawing.

6:00 - 6:30: Informal Networking, Mixing & Mingling
6:30 - 7:30: Group Introductions & Small Biz SpotLight Presentations
7:30 - 8:00pm: Informal Networking, Mixing & Mingling

GUIDELINES FOR SPOTLIGHT PRESENTATIONS

If you are one of the lucky presenters, your objective is to teach the audience about a topic that shows us your expertise and gives us practical, useful information without a long sales pitch.

For example:

  • Solve a problem for our small business owners.
  • Highlight a solution that will stop keeping them up at night.
  • Give a Top 10 List of valuable resources.
  • Any other ideas are welcome that will provide a helping hand to the audience.

** DO NOT give a 5-minute commercial **

If you do, you will be asked to shift gears and continue with educational material, or skip your turn. That said, of course at the end of your 5 minutes, it's OK to let the members know how to contact you, and of any special deals, etc. that you have to offer.

But the main point here is to teach something new, intriguing and genuinely helpfulas a way to build relationships, network and wow us into wanting to ask you more about your business.

If you do not want to present but just want to enjoy the other presentations, that's OK too.

Being a SpotLight Small Biz is optional. If you DO want to present that evening, please have a topic prepared beforehand so you aren't just "winging it" if you are chosen.

This is a great opportunity to shine, and you don't want to waste it.
