Camping is a fabulous way to meet new people, strengthen relationships and make great memories!
We are Pet & children friendly, in fact adults, kids and pets are normally invited to any trips/activities, but PLEASE read the description of each activity &/or trip for any specific information regarding kids & pets. Always contact the organizer for that trip, if you have any questions. Please note that pets are not allowed on some trails or in some areas
If you like to camp, build bonfires, grill out and chill out with a highly entertaining group of campers, you have found the right meetup group.

Camping in SW Michigan
Join us for a great weekend camping in SW Michigan. The campgrounds is about 2 hours from Chicago. The campfire will be raging all weekend.
Camping information:
We will be camping at a private campground between St. Joseph and South Haven. You may hike, paddle, or explore SW Michigan (There are many wineries, breweries, and distilleries in the area.). We are 13 miles from downtown St. Joseph and 13 miles from downtown South Haven. Don't feel like exploring, then hang out at the campsite for the day. We are 4 miles from a small beach on Lake Michigan that is dog friendly. It is a great place to watch the sunset.General location is I-196 and Hagar Shore Road (Exit 7), Coloma, Michigan
Other activities planned:
Friday evening, we will head to the beach on Lake Michigan (Hagar Park/Beach, 4 miles away) to see the sunset. Stop by a winery after? They have a band until 9:00.
Saturday morning, we will be doing a 4 mile hike at 10:00 am. (Ross Coastal Plain Marsh Preserve or Fernwood Botanical Garden).We will have a potluck on Saturday Evening. Hamburgers and Beyond Burgers will be provided. Please bring a dish to pass. We are also having a wine/cider tasting, please bring a bottle if you are interested in joining us.
It will be rustic tent camping only. It is a really nice area to camp. There are almost 2 miles of hiking trails on the property. Electricity/Showers are not available. There are porta-potties for you to use. Also, you will need to bring your own water.

Door County stands alone in Wisconsin as the sole county boasting five state parks - we are going back to the Potawatomi State Park!

5. See you at the campsite! :)Door County starts just north of Algoma, but the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal creates the Door Peninsula. Sturgeon Bay is 45 miles from the city of Green Bay, 150 miles from Milwaukee, 240 miles from Chicago and 320 miles from Minneapolis. The first town on the Green Bay side, Egg Harbor, is 17 miles from Sturgeon Bay. The park is conveniently located about 50 miles from Washington Island; if you have never been to the lavender farm; this is your chance.
We are camping at the group site, cap is at 30 campers. The site has a parking space allocated for 12 vehicles right at the site, plus additional parking spots at the overflow area. Parking spots will be assigned in the order of the trip sign-ups, on the “first come first served basis”. Our campsite has a communal fire pit (with grid), accessible vault toilets and drinking water are in the close proximity. Showers are at the family campground area.
We will have activities planned for each day, closer to the trip. See the tentative agenda below; a detailed trip agenda will be shared closer to the trip.
- FRIDAY: arrivals, set up tents, watch the sunset, and meet & greet at fire pit
- SATURDAY: kayaking, hiking, and finish off your day around the campfire & POTLUCK (optional)
- SUNDAY: hiking, trip to Washington Island/Rock Island and finish off your day around the campfire
- MONDAY: am hike and returning home
Door County peninsula offers various activities for all tastes, here are just a couple of recommendations:
Hiking:
- Right from our camp site, you will be able to hike on several hiking trails - Ancient Shores trail (0.5miles); Ice Age National scenic trail (2.8 miles); Hemlock trail (2.6 miles); Tower Trail (2.6 miles) https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/potawatomi/recreation/hiking

Biking:
- Potawatomi offers about eight miles of off-road bike trails wind through the park. Parking for the trails is available in Parking Lot 1 near the picnic areas along the shoreline. Visitors can also bike on any of the park's roads.

Kayaking:
If you like kayaking, or any other water sports, this is the place to try. 5. See you at the campsite! :)The Taylorsville Lake State Park, KY is located west of Lexington and southeast of Louisville, Kentucky, and encompasses some of the most beautiful areas for hiking, kayaking, biking, and horse riding! A 24-mile trail system caters to hikers, bikers, and equestrians.

Taylorsville Lake is located on the Salt River beginning at river mile 78 about 5 miles west of Glensboro and extends downstream to the dam at river mile 60. The Lake is 18 miles long and extends into portions of Spencer, Nelson, and Anderson Counties of Kentucky. The dam is located about 20 miles from Exit 23 on the Gene Snyder in Louisville and about 50 miles from southwest Lexington.Spots are limited - max 20 people. We will be staying at the group site and the campground has a cap on the number of site participants as well as a number of tents.
