Taylorsville Lake is located on the Salt River beginning at river mile 78 about 5 miles west of Glensboro and extends downstream to the dam at river mile 60. The Lake is 18 miles long and extends into portions of Spencer, Nelson, and Anderson Counties of Kentucky. The dam is located about 20 miles from Exit 23 on the Gene Snyder in Louisville and about 50 miles from southwest Lexington.

Spots are limited - max 20 people. We will be staying at the group site and the campground has a cap on the number of site participants as well as a number of tents.

Friday

• If you do arrive early, you may want to stop by the dam visitor center: https://www.kentuckytourism.com/taylorsville/visitor-services/local-tourism-offices/taylorsville-lake-us-army-corp-engineers-visitor-center it's open M-F until 3:45 pm

Saturday

• AM hiking (the park is currently working on a couple of trail improvements and recommended we check on the trail availability, upon arrival)

Sunday

• AM kayaking - lake and river kayak trails and rental options to be provided soon

We plan to hit one or both of the Bourbon trail staple Distilleries: Makers Mark ( https://www.makersmark.com/) and Jim Beam's (https://www.beamdistilling.com/james-b-beam-distillery-tour) Distilleries. Both Tours need to be booked in advance!

• The price is per person and includes a camping spot for 3 nights as well as firewood, to keep the fire going for 3 nights, and charcoal for grilling food . Payment guarantees your spot.

When all other parks are jammed to capacity during Labor Day we will be camping on our own private lands with a private lake. We will have proximity to 3 major rivers offering rafting, kayaking opportunities on the Wolf, Oconoto & Peshtigo Rivers. Excellent proximity to destinations in the Nicholet National Forest. With biking and great hiking opportunities.

We are Meetup volunteers who plan fun trips to build community and have fun outside! We rent private facilities exclusively for our groups use, the costs charged to you are kept intentionally low that cover overhead and associated lodging costs. Through the generosity of the organizer 50% of the trip is underwritten by the trip organizer. The balance of the costs are shared amount the participants to keep trip costs low. As part of the registration process we ask guests to sign up for camp duties to contribute to the success of the trip and help contain costs. Typical camp duties include cooking, cleaning, fire tending, and recreation leading.

This trip is for you if you:

• Enjoy hiking, camping, paddling and other outdoor and indoor activities or do nothing at all.
• Skills, Willingness & Ability: If you have skills to contribute to the operation of our camp, in the areas of cooking, recreation leadership, maintenance and can stay for the completion of your duty.
• Arrival & Departure: You can arrive between 5pm and 7pm at the start of the trip and depart any time after your final duty is completed.
• Easy: All of this is easy to do and we have been doing it for over 15 years
• Rain or Shine: Our trips progress rain or shine. We have alternate activities based on weather.

A non refundable or discounted fee includes most recreation, accommodates & roaring fires. Breakfasts, dinners and lunches are donated by the host. Provide your own bedding and sleeping gear and camping gear. Indoor and outdoor accommodations are available.

This event is 21 and over. We are unable to accommodate pets, . Kayaks have limited availability. Provide your own camping and sleeping equipment. Staying indoors, bring your own bedding. The trip is offered as is.

The Apple Cider Ride is taking place on Sunday the 28th and prices increase as followed: 12/31, then 05/31, and 7/31. When signing up - be sure to add on breakfast to your registration; it's a fundraiser for a local firehouse and it's delish!

What is Apple Cider Century Bikeride:
The Apple Cider Century (ACC) takes place in the Village of Three Oaks, located about 60 miles from both Chicago and Kalamazoo. Started in 1974, the event has grown into one of the Midwest's largest century events, drawing up to 4,000 participants each year. Run and organized by the Three Oaks Spokes Bicycle Club, the funds raised from the ride support various groups, including the ACC Tour itself, Backroads Bikeway Trails, the Bicycle Museum at Dewey Cannon Trading Company, the League of American Bicyclists, Rails to Trails, and several community youth programs.
