Whitewater Camping Weekend - Round 2!
Back by popular demand… we’re heading again to one of our absolute favorite Wisconsin gems: Kettle Moraine State Forest – Southern Unit
Why This Trip?
Think 22,000 acres of rolling glacial hills, peaceful lakes, pine forests, and open prairies—all packed into one beautiful playground. Whether you're here to hike, paddle, swim, or just unplug by the fire… this place delivers. And yes—it's just 1 hour 30 minutes from O’Hare, making it an easy escape into nature.
Camp Details
📍 Whitewater Lake Campground
- Pit toilets + pump water available
- No showers onsite (showers ~15 min away at Ottawa Lake Campground)
What We’ll Be Doing
This weekend is all about choosing your own adventure:
Kayaking / SUP / Swimming
- Chill at Whitewater Lake (largest lake, beach + great views)
- Paddle the peaceful waters of Rice Lake

Hiking:
We will be able to enjoy miles and miles of rolling hills through pine plantations, prairies, and southern hardwood forests. Hiking is available on the Scuppernong, Emma Carlin, John Muir, and Nordic trails, as well as the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Cost
$35 per person
Includes:
- 2 nights camping
- Firewood for cozy nights

- A vehicle admission sticker is required at all three launches. All watercraft must be equipped with a wearable Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device for each person on board.
