Data Analytics at Chicago Public Libraries: an update

Details

Chicago Public Library and Data: An Update
At the Chicago Public Libraries, Michelle Frisque is the Chief of Technology, Content & Innovation. In that role, Michelle is chartered with identifying and recognizing information technology trends that will benefit the library and their users, sharing information with colleagues, and then successfully planning for and implementing those new technologies within the system.

Chicago Public Library has recently hired a Chief Operations Analyst, Vig Krishnamurthy. Vig spearheads analytics projects to improve library business practices and manages initiatives to align departmental roles and responsibilities with public service needs. Previously, he worked as a consultant assisting communities in deploying transformative infrastructure projects -- including managing spatial analysis for the roll out of Divvy bikes -- and leading strategic plan processes for city service delivery departments across the United States.

Together Michelle and Vig will talk about how the library uses data today and role data will play in building the library of tomorrow.
