Let's hike 8+ Miles at Horsetail Lake!

Please allow me to build upon our mutual appreciation of our natural areas while demonstrating to you why this special place deserves to be protected in a natural state forever.

The cost of the hike is free.

Meet new people and make friends as we observe wildlife and enjoy beautiful scenery while hiking at least eight (8) miles on topography formed during the ice age. Each hike in this series will follow a different, custom route in order to provide variety and stimulate interest in our hiking experience.

The world is a beautiful place. Let's enjoy it together!

We use less traveled routes at less traveled times to minimize encounters with those outside our small group.
Be prepared for single track hiking.

Rain or shine.

We walk at a brisk pace.

We prefer to consolidate the group periodically and at each trail junction. This practice allows for more social interaction among participants as well as promoting a heightened sense of community. Let's find the right balance between socializing, experiencing nature and exercising.

Please respect other people and respect the environment. Let common courtesy be your guide.

Each attendee for each event must have their own profile, so please have your guest(s) create a profile.

There is no short version of the hike. Please let common sense be your guide.

Sorry, no pets.

No smoking or open flame.

Camaraderie is encouraged.

Pleasant surprises are the norm, so be prepared for side trips. No spoilers please!
Interesting show and tell items are welcome.

Costumes are optional.

It is the intention of this group to comply with all FPDCC regulations and to cooperate with all FPDCC staff. If the headcount at the trail head exceeds 24 participants, the group leader will assign participants to smaller groups in order to ensure compliance.
