Details

Thanks you Jasmin and Mike for your Facebook post about this place months back! Several others also mentioned that they really like this area.

Optional post hike lunch
To be determined

Hike Summary:
Welcome to the friendliest trail system I've ever been on! Every single person (except one out of breath runner) smiled and said hello to me, at least 15 people. Its also very hiker friendly because its so well marked with color coded and "You are here" signs. The beauty, peace and serenity no doubt contributes to their smiles.

There are several hilly areas that will give a bit of a workout. The terrain is almost all grass with hardly any roots and rocks. The trails are very wide and grassy and support some of the best cross country skiing in the area during winter months.
I rate this hike as easier than most due to very easy terrain. The hills are not super steep either.

There are bathrooms where we meet and after about 4 or 5 miles we'll be back at the lot to take a restroom break then continue on.

You can pick and choose the distance you want to hike. There are many different intersecting loops of different color trails.

Hike Details:
Expect wide grassy trails with some fun, hilly stretches. Tall pines line sections of the trails and other sections have traditional forest.

Some areas have open meadows and others forested canopy. There are views of forested kettles that drop down hundred feet or more.

This place was a sea of green! A carpet of green grass on flat or rolling topography, and wall of green on either side. These are not equestrian trails and mountain bikers do not use them either. Just hikers and their dogs.

Wildflowers
Hoary Puccoon (small orange flowers 5 petals)
Sunflower/daisy/aster family (yellow)
Eastern shooting star (purple a foot high)
Purple wild geraniums

WI State parks require a vehicle admission pass.
I will be leading multiple hikes in WI this year and a weekend camping trip at Governor Dodge State park in Sept. Its worth it to by a yearly pass.
If the pass does not arrive just print out a copy of the receipt and put it where they can see it.

Information about purchasing a pass:
https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/admission

You can buy the pass in the parking lot day of, just allow extra time.

I hope you can join us! Its a long drive, but you can consider making a weekend trip.
Spend the night before in Lake Geneva which is 25 minutes away https://www.visitlakegeneva.com/
or consider camping.

This hike is cross posted with Trailblazers Hiking group https://www.meetup.com/chicagoland-trailblazers-hiking-group/events/308034716 and my guest rsvp will include members of that group.
