Hike Fabyan Forest Preserve & Fox River trails, 8.5 miles, 3 or 4 mile option

Details
I haven't led a hike here since Sept 2022, time to go back! First held hikes here in 2021.
Hike Summary
There are two parts to this hike. The first are single track rustic mountain bike trails which twist and turn and cross over streams. The second part is well maintained trails along the Fox River that are shared with cyclists.
The second part can take in some of the gardens that Fabyan is known for. Dogs are welcome on all parts of the hike.
Hike 1 will be a 25 minute mile due to roots and obstacles. Hike 2 faster pace, 20 to 22 minute mile but may involve stops to view gardens.
Hike 1 - Fabyan forest estimate 3 or 4 miles
Last time we went here it was heavily wooded. I know they did some work and cleared invasives back in 2023. I'll review conditions and update later. This part is small, only a 70 acre preserve.
There used to be least 4 miles of trails here but things change and there may only be 3. It was narrow with roots from what I remember.
Hike 2 - Fox River trail, add another 4.5 miles for 8.5 cumulative
Cross the street and head over toward the historic Fabyan Windmill and gardens.
Very easy, nearly all asphalt level trails. Small portions on the northern end may be hard packed dirt. Some areas near the southern (and east side) are developed. This is a loop and to cross the bridge requires walking thru historic developed section of Batavia for about 2-3 blocks. I regret that it cannot be all forest but it is what it is. Some sections will be wooded. Other sections will be tree lined (enough to attract a permanent owl that hoots on evenings and known to locals). Other sections butt up against huge mansions with massive luxurious front yards. This is a developed area but offers some scenic views and bald eagles / owls still take advantage of it.
Park at 1500 Crissey Ave, Batavia.
You'll see a giant Windmill. Please park across the street from
it near the forest. Its a small parking lot and that's
where we are meeting. You'll see a Fabyan East sign.
On this hike its possible to get there later and wait for us in the parking lot to do the second part of the hike. I estimate that we'll complete the first part on mountain bike trails by around 10:30.
