5 mile hike at Volo Bog in Lake County optional outdoor Mexican lunch on a lake!

Hike Summary:
Mostly sun about 75%. Flat easy surfaces with no incline. Mowed grass or gravel and no bikes allowed. The boardwalk at the end of the hike offers a 'tour of Florida'. At only 1/2 mile, its a real treat!

This is a hike I do once a year and I do it at the end of the season because the growth along the boardwalk is much taller. I may choose to do this hike during Winter for a different experience. But for now, end of Summer hike here is the best, especially on their boardwalk.

Volo bog is truly a one of a kind local hike where you will actually get to walk over the only quaking bog in Illinois! If you attend, you'll learn what a quaking bog is.

The hike will likely end by 11:15 and will start about 9:15.
