Summary
The hike will be around 6 miles but its easy to create your own distance and walk less. You can see the parking lot from across the lake.
This hike is easy and flat on wide crushed limestone. We can split up into groups of faster and slower walkers.
If you like water features you won't be disappointed. There are lakes and ponds everywhere and a few creeks too. This preserve was built on a landfill as many (Blackwell, Oakhurst) were. Lots of parking available. There is a new restroom facility with flush toilets and running water.
This hike has both loops around the lake and there and back sections. It connects to the DuPage Regional trail and we'll keep walking until we reach County Line Road then turn back.
This is a Winter version of the hike. In Summer mountain bike trails might be available.
This hike is cross posted with Chicagoland Trailblazers Hiking Group

The main parking lot is on Schick Road west of Gary Avenue.
