Enjoy an easy scenic hike on flat well-groomed, well-marked trails. Wright Woods is very pretty 760 acre preserve and features a man-made lake. It follows the Des Plaines river for portions.
At 2.3 and 2.8 miles there are options to limit the hike to about 3 miles. At 3.5 miles there's also an option to limit the hike. I will mention these if anyone wants to limit it to around 3 miles.
The trail is shaded for the first 3.4 miles with little patches of sunlight that sparkle in. The forest is thick but not dense. At 3.5 miles this trail connects to Half Day Forest Preserve. We'll cross a bridge over the Des Plaines river and hike portions of this one.
Restroom is open and leashed dogs are welcome.
