Allow enough travel time for navigation, parking & getting seated with the group.

Bus Route details...from online
Step 1: Catch the CTA #55 Garfield bus
- The #55 Garfield bus route runs along 55th Street, a major east-west route through Hyde Park.
- Catch the westbound #55 bus at a stop near your location in Hyde Park.
Step 2: Get off at the stop near S. Woodlawn Ave
- Ride the bus to the Midway Plaisance. The bus stop at 55th Street and S. Woodlawn Avenue will be the closest for the Wagner Stage.
Step 3: Walk to the Wagner Stage
- From the bus stop at 55th and S. Woodlawn, walk south across the Midway Plaisance to reach the Wagner Stage. The stage is located on the Midway's southern side.
Again, Public Transportation is best.
By Train: From Indiana-
Take South Shore Train to 55th/Hyde Park, walk or cab to Midway Plaisance/S. Woodlawn. (10 min walk if you're feeling exercise-y;)

By Metra: Make Your Final Destination Here:
You want a Metra Electric Line to 1 of the following locations:
- Midway Plaisance: This area is near the 55th-56th-57th Street or 59th Street Station. -OR-
- Woodlawn Avenue: The 59th Street Station is the closest Metra stop to the University of Chicago, which is located at Woodlawn Avenue.

The Midway Festival area includes:
- Food and beverage vendors (e.g., beer, wine, water)
- Artist and artisan booths and other shopping
- Information booth with Festival t-shirts for purchase
- Portable restrooms and handwashing stations
- Seating areas with chairs for watching performances
- Picnic tables
- Picnic areas for your own set-up (Note: you are permitted to bring your own food and beverages (alcohol ok), chairs, blankets, etc.)
Bring exact change [$1 singles, $10, $5 denominations], or debit/credit cards to keep it simple and just in case vendors need it.
The Midway is the central Festival grounds. If you have been to the Hyde Park Jazz Festival before, the Midway setup will be familiar to you.
It is an outdoor stage, dance floor and street intersection all in one.
Feel free to bring blanket to sit on, your own picnic, umbrella for the sun, light jacket if it's cool.
