Introducing Deep Java Library for building and deploying AI applications in Java

Details

This talk on DJL (Deep Java Library) is to raise awareness on this open source tool in the Java developer community. During this talk, we will go over the key features and high level architecture of DJL. We’ll also showcase how Java developers can take advantage of the latest and greatest open source AI models and incorporate them in the Java/Scala ecosystem without using Python. Lastly, we’ll present a customer use case from Netflix on doing transfer learning and deploying a pre-trained open source deep learning model on Scala based streaming infrastructure for real-time large scale inference.

Presenters:

Frank Liu- Frank Liu is a Software Engineer for AWS Deep Learning, creator of Deep Java Library. He has more than 25 years of Java development experience. He focuses on building innovative deep learning tools for software engineers and scientists.

Stanislav Kirdey- Stanislav works at Netflix where he focuses on large-scale, applied machine learning in the areas of NLP, search, and anomaly detection. Outside of machine learning and work, Stanislav is obsessed with RuPaul’s Drag Race, POSE, and Star Trek.
