What we’re about
Welcome to the Chicagoland Dual-Sport Riders Meetup Club! Dual-sport, dual-purpose and adventure bikes are motorcycles that are capable of traveling both on and off-road. The purpose of the Chicagoland Dual-Sport Riders Meetup Club is to promote interest in dual-sport riding, organize dual-sport rides for club members, and organize social events for club members and families. Why should “bikers” have all the fun? This is a great way to meet riders of all levels of experience and participate in organized rides and outings. Safety takes priority on every ride that is organized through this site and it is important that every motorcyclist adhere to all applicable laws and ride within their ability.
This is a social club of independent riders who use Meetup.com to organize group rides and social events. New members at all levels of experience are encouraged to join. Sign up and come ride with us!

Hugellandschaft Adventure Ride May 29-May31, 2026
Palace Campground, 11357 US Hwy 20 W, Galena, IL, USWho wants to have Adventure fun? If you answered, “I do!” then mark your planner for May 29-31, 2026, for a visit to Galena Illinois for another version of the Hugellandschaft Adventure Ride. The area is big bike friendly with almost 500 miles of GPX tracks for you to enjoy over the weekend. The Driftless area of Illinois, Iowa and southwest Wisconsin are always a treat to experience so bring your “yes” and share the fun. Palace Campground in Galena Illinois will again be base of operations and tracks starting point. The Galena area has numerous lodging options beyond Palace if you are not a camper, Google is your friend. If you are riding your bike in and tenting it for the night(s) just check in on arrival, no reservations are required. If you need a site with power or wish to rent one of their cabins, best make a reservation at Palace Camp. You are in charge of making your own lodging arrangements. Site 89 is where your Hugellandschaft host is positioned so if you wish to be near all the dirty bikers, need morning coffee, want a commemorative event sticker and make for a short walk to Saturday evening’s free meal, keep that in mind. Lots of sporty pavement, elevation changes, gravel surfaces of varying traction levels, Iowa Class B roads that will challenge your balance, interesting villages, occasional water hazards and scenery that will make you appreciate life are the norm for the weekend. On to the required disclaimer. This is an informal gathering of like-minded individuals for the sole purpose of escaping life’s responsibilities for a few days and simply enjoy life. Motorcycles are dangerous, risky, money vacuums and can mess you up. They can also be exhilarating, stimulating vessels of freedom and discovery. Know where the lines are drawn and assume some personal risk by not blaming others (i.e.-me or the campground) should your weekend experience an unfortunate smite from Lady Karma. Nuff” said. Be safe, be kind to animals and for Pete’s sake, if you are going to challenge an axe throwing young lady camper to a Crocs equipped foot race against her hatchet tossing skills, please, I beg of you, alert the rest of us so we can witness this display of athleticism. Lest you think otherwise please be aware that there is next to nothing as far as organization. You ride at your pace, go when you want, eat/drink what you want and be kind to everyone you contact. Tracks will be posted here on this thread shortly before event date once they have been massaged to perfection and proof ridden. Follow this link to last year’s gathering to get an idea of what to expect. Hugellandschaft 2025. We have been gathering for several years now, and the good times, memories, stories and relationships have grown along with us. Sure, there are better places in the country to ride your motorcycle but here is a reminder to not chase the tides as they ebb and flow but to hold on to the pearls they occasionally leave behind.
