Beginning Teacher Workshop Series

Details
Teaching is one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs a person can undertake. It is the desire to improve the lives of children and help them to be the best they can be. They can do all this, and more, but need the foundational skills to navigate the demands of today's classroom.
Does this scenario sound familiar? The pressure of meeting all the standards before the end of the school year intensifies as you try to keep the class under control. You have your principal evaluation coming up next week and feel you have no time to adequately prepare for the guided reading lesson she wants to see. No one is available to answer the burning question you have and desperately need an answer And to top it all off, what the hell does a good guided reading lesson look like anyway? The Beginning Teacher Workshops are a recognition of these challenges and will offer practical ideas and solutions that will bring the joy of teaching back into your classroom instruction. We are fortunate to have two facilitators (Barbara Kent, former CPS Principal & Joyce Jennings, Professor Emerita, Northeastern Illinois University) that I hold in the highest regard for their years of experience, a wealth of knowledge and commitment to improving the lives of both teachers and students. The topics that will be covered in this workshop series are below. You can register for any one or all of the workshops!
