Fall/Winter Meetups

Hi Everyone,
I want to apologize for not having a Halloween meetup this year. Some of you have been asking about it and I do know it's usually a fun one. We will also not be having a November meetup, and I hope you'll forgive us when I let you know why. We will be having a holiday potluck in December, which I'll post before too long. We had hoped Laura would be able to host a November meetup but she'll be out of town for a while. Chris and I need to take a short reprieve. We lost our youngest pug, Guinness on October 15th to a stroke, complicated by pneumonia and a collapsed trachea (a condition we hadn't even known about until it complicated his recovery). It was a huge shock to us - He seemed like his happy little self the day before, then on Saturday morning I was rushing him to the animal ER and a little less than 48 hours later I was holding him in my arms while the vet put him gently to sleep. It's been a rough few weeks. We've been focused on making sure Stuey is okay. He was about 9 months old when we brought Guinness home and he hadn't been without him since. He's been a little lost, himself, but he's becoming quite spoiled as an only dog! He will likely have another sibling again in the future, but right now we're just not ready. Anyway, we wanted to let you all know since you've been such a part of our lives, it's just been hard to sit down and write this email. So we want to let you know we're not abandoning you. We love you all - we just needed a brief break. We hope to see you all at the holiday party. Laura informs me we've already got a Santa lined up! Think of what you'd like to bring to share. We're looking forward to one of our fun holiday pot lucks! Take care!
Dee Dee
