Chicago Puzzle Club is a Chicago-based group with the mission to build and grow the jigsaw puzzle community in and around Chicago. We host various puzzle events throughout the year, including speed puzzle competitions, casual puzzle social events, and more!
All donations will go towards funding and creating our puzzle events (i.e. venue cost, refreshments cost, puzzle cost, etc).

Chicago Puzzle Club - Teams Speed Puzzle Competition & Puzzle Swap - April 18

Chicago Puzzle Club is hosting a multi-division teams speed puzzle competition in Chicago! The Novice speed puzzle competition division will have teams of up to 4 people compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle within a 1.5-hour time limit (10:30am - 12:00pm). The Challenge speed puzzle competition division will have teams of up to 4 people compete to finish a 1,000-piece puzzle within a 2.5-hour time limit (1:00pm - 3:30pm). Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winning teams in each division!
***NOTE: If you were a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place winning team in one of our past competitions, we encourage you to sign up for the Challenge 1,000-piece puzzle competition division and to hold off on signing up for the Novice 500-piece puzzle competition unless there are remaining spots after Saturday, April 4, 2026.***
We will have a puzzle swap table where you can take a puzzle in exchange for each puzzle that you drop off. If there are leftover puzzles, you can take as many as you want home.
Novice 500-Piece Speed Puzzle Competition Information:
- One ticket will cover a team of up to 4 people and includes the competition puzzle, puzzle bag, and free snacks and beverages.
- Puzzle competition starts promptly at 1:00pm and will end at 3:30pm, so please arrive early to make the competition start time. For teams that don’t finish the puzzle within the allotted time, remaining pieces will be tallied for the ranking.
Challenge 1,000-Piece Speed Puzzle Competition Information:
- One ticket will cover a team of up to 4 people and includes the competition puzzle, puzzle bag, and free snacks and beverages.
- Puzzle competition starts promptly at 1:00pm and will end at 3:30pm, so please arrive early to make the competition start time. For teams that don’t finish the puzzle within the allotted time, remaining pieces will be tallied for the ranking.
Additional Information:
- Teams can take home their puzzle used in the competition.
- The puzzle swap will run from 10:00am - 4:00pm.
- Check-in starts at 10:00am for the Novice speed puzzle competition and 12:30pm for the Challenge speed puzzle competition.
- For competitors who don’t finish the puzzle within the allotted time, remaining pieces will be tallied for the ranking.
- There is a free parking lot and street parking.
- There will be an opportunity to win door prizes.
- Individuals must be 16 years of age and older to compete.
- No alcohol is allowed, but feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks or snacks. Free snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
- Competition will be held at Clarendon Fieldhouse at 4501 N. Clarendon Avenue, Chicago, IL 60640. This venue is wheelchair accessible.

CPC - USAJPA Sanctioned Solo & Pairs Speed Puzzle Competitions & Puzzle Swap

Chicago Puzzle Club is hosting their second official USAJPA Sanctioned Solo and Pairs speed puzzle competition in Chicago! USA Jigsaw Puzzle Association (USAJPA) is a non-profit organization that creates a nationwide community for jigsaw puzzlers and establishes a framework for competitive jigsaw puzzling events.
For Solo division only: Competition times will count towards your Jigsaw Puzzle Association Rating (JPAR) if you are a USAJPA member. To become a USAJPA member, click here. You are not required to be a USJPA member to compete in the Solo and Pairs competition.
*Note: JPAR is a calculation of your puzzling performance compared to average USAJPA member performance across each USAJPA/sanctioned competition within the last 12 months. More information can be found on the USAJPA website.
The Solo speed puzzle competition division will compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle within a 2-hour time limit (10:30am - 12:30pm). The Pairs speed puzzle competition division will have teams of 2 people compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle within a 1.5-hour time limit (2:00pm - 3:30pm).
The top 3 winners in each division will win prizes such as a trophy, puzzle, and gift cards. The 1st place Solo and Pairs winners will also win a guaranteed reserved spot into the 2027 USA Jigsaw Nationals competition (additional Nationals competition registration fee applies if winners decide to compete in the 2027 USA Jigsaw Nationals competition using this guaranteed reserved spot).
We will also have a table for an optional puzzle swap where you can take a puzzle in exchange for each puzzle that you drop off.
Solo 500-Piece Speed Puzzle Competition Information:
- One ticket will cover entry for one (1) individual and includes the competition puzzle, puzzle bag, and free snacks and beverages.
- Puzzle competition starts promptly at 10:30am and will end at 12:30pm, so please arrive early to make the competition start time. For individuals who do not finish the puzzle within the allotted time, remaining pieces will be tallied for the ranking.
Pairs 500-Piece Speed Puzzle Competition Information:
- One ticket will cover a team of two (2) people and includes the competition puzzle, puzzle bag, and free snacks and beverages.
- Puzzle competition starts promptly at 2:00pm and will end at 3:30pm, so please arrive early to make the competition start time. For teams that don’t finish the puzzle within the allotted time, remaining pieces will be tallied for the ranking.
Additional Information:
- Individuals and teams can take home their puzzle used in the competition.
