Inspect and Adapt, then what? by Corey Haines

Details
Agility, and especially the methodologies linked to this idea, often include the phrase "Inspect and Adapt." That is, we start with a process, then, based on regular retrospectives, we should adapt to our context. But, what then? What does adaptation actually look like? And what techniques might come out of that. And what happens when the prescribed practices are the things in the way?
In this talk, I'll discuss the idea of adaptation to fit a specific context with concrete examples from teams that I've run, some practices that we've done away with and how we got there.
Our friends at NCSA will provide location and food.

The Presenter
Corey Haines is an author, speaker, teacher and all around groovy guy. While his true contribution to the world is an undying love of cats, he also co-created and led the evolution of the coderetreat workshop, including the creation of the annual Global Day of Coderetreat. He is currently the CTO of Hearken, a business focused on providing techniques and tools for newsrooms (and other content producers) to better partner with their audience during content creation. As a follow-up to his popular book, Understanding the 4 Rules of Simple Design, he currently is (slowly) working on a new title, Exploring the Lambda Calculus.
