Occasionally, the Doctor drops in - when he's avoiding his destiny, it’s an ideal place to get some perspective. Only this time he's already there from several lives earlier, so when dimension barriers break down, his past and present collide.

And when the Daleks invade and commandeer the Cathedral, two Doctors must unite to stop them - or face extermination twice over!

The recent Disney+ series of Doctor Who has sparked a lot of conversation, and although we couldn't hold regular weekly live views, we are focusing on one of this season’s highlights.

Episode Five of this past series, The Story and the Engine, was written by playwright Inua Ellams and directed by Makalla McPherson. After the screening, we will discuss why this episode has been highly regarded, as well as our reactions to the overall season.

You’ve probably seen that photo of the side door of a particular Chicago bookstore. You know, the one painted like a TARDIS?

That’s for a science fiction bookstore in Bridgeport, and we thought we would end our in-person events with an excursion to the south side.

It’s special - after all, it’s where our lead organizer grew up.

So join us at a Jackalope Coffee for great food and good talk, and then we’ll head out at 1:30 to check out Tangible Books near 33rd and Halsted.

Luckily, both sites are off the Halsted bus line, and it’s a great opportunity to get together before the holidays.
