What we're about

The purpose of ASCA (Adult Survivors of Child Abuse) meetings is to allow survivors to share their abuse and recovery experiences, to receive peer support and affirmation for their recovery efforts; to try out new, more adaptive behaviors and, in so doing, to better understand themselves and their recovery process. This is a peer support group, not a therapy group and is for child abuse survivors only.

During this time, Child Abuse Survivors Maui is hosting its 1-hour meetings ONLINE every Thursday, 7p to 8p. This will continue indefinitely until further notice.

The environment is safe and private and the hour long format follows an organized structure which allows for us survivors to share, whenever we are ready to, with no pressure, ever. You can be known by just your first name, or even a false name if you feel more comfortable. Everything that is said in a support group meeting is 100% confidential.

I am a survivor and a certified facilitator of this ASCA support group. I attended one of these groups for several months in the mainland and found that it added a profound level of healing to my journey. To be with a group of adults that I shared so much in common with, previously believing that I was the only one that felt that particular kind of pain, isolation and struggle, was an experience that effected me immensely. I am honored to participate in this healing experience with my fellow child abuse survivors on Maui.

If you decide you want to join our group, it will prompt you to sign up for a MEETUP account. You can put your full name, just first name, or if you feel more comfortable, YOU CAN USE AN ALIAS (false) NAME.
