Childfree Discussion Group Kickoff Event: Building Community

Details
Details
The goal of this group is to deepen our understanding of what it means to live childfree through shared conversation and community that empowers us to navigate and celebrate childfree lives.
What to Expect
RSVP and please arrive 5 minutes early to get settled. We'll be at a table with a Childfree Discussion Group sign. We'll start with introductions and review the group norms and goals. Then, our host will lead a discussion on our shared text, Cassidy Randall's article, "I chose to be childfree. I didn’t think I was choosing isolation, too" about the benefits of community (if you don't have time to read the article, you're still welcome to join us!). Afterward, we'll invite reading/listening suggestions for future meetups and have optional time to chat and get to know one another. Members are welcome to talk about their experiences navigating the childfree life. Our events are a safe space to build community.
Being Late is Okay: Just show up and get settled, then check in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Childfree Discussion Group sign.) If you are on time, please be willing to make room for any friendly latecomers.
What we're about
We're a supportive discussion group for those living a childfree life. Our events follow a simple format: before we meet, we read or listen to content (articles, podcast episodes, etc.) about life without children. Then, we get together for a guided discussion. Everyone in the group may suggest content/questions for our discussion. We will co-construct group norms and expectations during the first meeting.
