Countryside Walk- Burchett's Green, Hurley, River Thames ,Knowl Hill circular

Details
A walk through beautiful countryside, Hurley village and River Thames with a bit of history thrown in!!!!
Our walk starts from the NT free car park located off Pinkneys Drive, Maidenhead and heads through the woods (famously used by notorious highwaymen until the early 1800's) and farmland towards Burchett's Green beautiful conservation area. We change direction from our other popular walk in the area and head towards "The Hall" built in 1728 and now home to an agricultural college, continuing on to beautiful hamlet of Hurley. Here we see the relics of the monastery founded in 1086 by Geoffrey de Mandeville and The Olde Bell Inn (built as the monastic guest house) dating back to 1135. From here we enjoy the path alongside River Thames before joining the Knowl Hill bridleway and passing near famous The Dew Drop Inn (hideout of the legendary highwayman Dick Turpin) to head back to Stubbings Lodge and the car park.
Distance approx 8-9 miles - moderate, total ascent 419 ft, some hilly section on the bridleway otherwise easy/moderate.
We shall have a short lunch break in the village or by the river so pls. bring packed lunch, snacks and water.
