A "new" modified walk- West Wycombe, Bradenham, Walters Ash ,Naphill circular

Details

A "new" modified walk in the popular and beautiful area of the Chilterns National Landscape (AONB)! Our walk starts from the free NT car park located on the imposing hilltop featuring the medieval St. Lawrence Church and the Dashwood Mausoleum at West Wycombe. We start following a fairly flat terrain cutting through Hearnton Wood to Nobles Farm before descending towards Bradenham village and the Manor house where the Victorian PM Benjamin Disraeli grew up. A short rest here before we embark on the "new" route towards, Bradenham Beeches and Park Wood, in the vicinity of Grim's Ditch, an ancient landmark, before heading towards The Coppice and Naphill Common. We spend some time in these beautiful woodlands before heading back down to the A4010 before ascending the steep hilly section to the car park.
The walk is through a large area of mixed oak and beech trees and designated an SSSI.

Distance approx 7-8 miles - moderate to mid difficult hilly sections, total ascent 730ft.
We shall have a short lunch break so pls. bring packed lunch, snacks and water.

FREE car park is at the top of the hill on Church Lane near the Mausoleum. See directions section for details pls.
