**
Repeat trip to the beautiful National Trust Ashridge Estate which consists of 5000 acres of woodland, parkland and down chalklands.**
This is a magical place in all seasons with a walk through the Golden Valley designed and created by Lancelot ' Capability' Brown and the maybe see some fallow deer en- route.
We start our walk from the car park and head down to the Prince's Riding path towards Thundell Lodge and follow the route to the College buildings before descending to the Golden Valley. Heading out of here we aim for Ivinghoe Common and Dunscombe through some beautiful woodlands before the welcoming sight of the Monument ( built in 1832 in memory of the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater, Francis Egerton in recognition of his work in inland navigation building canals during the Industrial Revolution) and the cafe. A short stop here before returning back to the car park.
This is a moderate walk (approx 7 miles ascent 388 ft )
We shall have a short lunch break so pls. bring a packed lunch, snacks and water.
