For this walk we are venturing through Beaconsfield, Winchmore Hill and Penn through some great scenic countryside on paths across forests and open fields. Near the end of the walk we intend to stop off at the ancient inn of the 'Royal Standard', used by King Charles the I in the Civil War, and reported to be the oldest freehouse in England.

Food and Drink: Please bring a packed lunch and water for the walk. We will be stopping at Winchmore Hill for a 30-45 min lunch break.

Transport:

We meet at 10.15am at Beaconsfield station for walk to start at 10.30am.

Train: The 10.00am train from London Marylebone gets to Beaconsfield for 10.22am.
See Chiltern Railways (http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/)

I would encourage you to seek out other members who are driving from London, or who can go as part of a group save on the train.

Car: Anyone coming by car can use the station car park or I would suggest one of the nearby side roads that are free on a Sunday in certain areas such as Ledborough Lane, which is also along the start of our walk.

Before going on any of these walks you need to be reasonably fit and be prepared to be responsible for your own safety. You must wear appropriate clothing such as proper walking boots, warm and wet weather clothing and carry sufficient food and water. Please see our Terms and Conditions.
