Shakespeare's Way Section 11: Hammersmith to The Globe Theatre!

Following the success of walking The Ridgeway in 2023, the Chiltern Young Walkers have set themselves a new challenge of walking Shakespeare's Way in 2024!

A 146 mile route that winds its way through the Cotswolds, the Chiltern hills and along the Thames between Shakespeare's Historic Birthplace and The Globe Theatre in London. Its a beautiful fully signposted route that goes through towns such as Chipping Norton, Woodstock and Marlow as well as the beautiful city of Oxford and of course a long section along the River Thames in London. We're kicking the challenge off with a double bill, which you can do either part of as a day trip or stay for an little weekend away!

We're nearly done! Join us as we smash out the last 11 ish miles of this 146 route by meandering along the River Thames between Hammersmith and The Globe Theatre.

We're going to start this walk quite early because we have a master plan - to celebrate finishing The Shakespeare's Way by actually going to see a play at The Globe Theatre! Therefore we're getting this out early to give people a chance to get tickets to the 2pm showing to The Comedy of Errors before they sell out (tickets are £5/10 for standing, or £25 - 80 for sitting).

Please grab yourself a ticket if you'd like to come. Afterwards, we'll go for drinks and dinner, though you're very welcome to just come for the walk or any part afterwards.

We'll meet at Hammersmith station and will head off towards the river - we won't stop for lunch until we reach The Globe.

A few people are planning on staying for dinner and/or the night before/after - if going for food after the play is of interest please reply to Beth's comment on Meetup.
