About us
This group is an occasional salon for experimenting with tools, workflows, and ways of thinking related to architecture, computation, and design practice.
Meetups are intentionally lightweight and informal. Sessions may take the form of demos, show-and-tell, open or guided discussions, or shared problem-solving around questions people are actively wrestling with.
The goal isn’t scale or consistency, it’s curiosity. Whoever shows up is the right group for that moment. Think of it as a place to test ideas in public, learn from peers, and stay connected to how tools are actually being used, or misused, in practice.
ChiNamo is a long-running, community-driven group exploring tools and computation in architectural practice. It is affiliated with the Autodesk Group Network and the AIA Chicago Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community, and operates independently as a space for open exchange and inquiry.
