Lucky Bamboo Mahjong Club - Beginners Welcome!

The $10 fee will be used to maintain the space, provide snacks and drinks, and purchase more mahjong equipment. If you wish to pay via another method, please message us or message Peter directly. The class will take place upstairs on the second floor of a building with no elevator. If you will need assistance, please let us know in advance and we will make accommodations. Gameplay will take place downstairs in an accessible room. Thank you.

Learn how to play Hong Kong-style mahjong in a relaxed setting. This club is open to people wishing to learn how to play mahjong with no prior experience. Most of the members of this club have attended previous meetings and returned to practice their skills before attempting to play more advanced mahjong events around LA. For beginners or those needing a refresher, an introductory mahjong presentation and demonstration will be given at the start of every hour (7 PM and 8 PM). Most people are able to play (and win!) mahjong on their own after this presentation. Guided gameplay with other new players is offered after the presentation.

Feel free to bring snacks and drinks for yourself or to share.

This is first come first served. Show up early to ensure you get a chance to play!

$5 parking at Mandarin Plaza across the street (let attendant know you're staying late) or street parking (free after 8pm)! An additional parking lot is on Broadway next to Wonder Bakery.
