How would you describe your level of Chinese? (Eg it's my native language OR I don't speak it OR I learned some dialect from my family but little Mandarin, OR I can speak a few words, simple conversations, etc.)

I can speak mandarin, but I am very rusty! I have studied since high school, so about 6 years of Chinese classes, one year study abroad in Beijing.

What kind of events and activities would you be interested in? What would you like to do at our events?

Anything and everything. Cooking classes, Taiji lessons, Chinese medicine lectures, etc.

Where did you grow up? How did you learn Chinese? Tell us your story.

I grew up in northern MD. My high school offered the first exchange program in Baltimore County and I jumped at the chance to go. I love China, but I have not had the chance to practice Mandarin.

What could this group provide for you that no other Meetup could?

Language practice and new friends

What are your favorite Chinese dishes and foods?

豆腐皮辣椒 hands down. I do not know why, but it is my favorite dish.
