What we’re about
There's so much fear and anxiety around China these days (politics, economics, tech) but we rarely hear about the people, their dreams, their heartbreaks, their stories. I think real cultural dialogue between the U.S. and China is essential for a peaceful 21st century, and this book club in NYC might be a starting point. This will not be a political book club, but a literary book club. Let's meet once per month and drink tea.
I propose we start a WhatsApp group now, choose a book, start reading, then meet for the first time in late June, about 1 month from today.
Here's the WhatsApp link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GxvSwoLU6qm5rB5XzAxKdy
And let's choose a book from one of the following lists. I'm thinking we can start off with an anthology of short fiction, but openminded. We'll lock in a book once we have 5–10 interested people.
