H/W Acceleration on Cloud FPGA

I've begun collaborating w/ Politecnico Di Milano to simplify the use of cloud FPGAs. Many of you met Alessandro Comodi at the last meetup. He's heading back to Italy in a few weeks. We thought it would be fun to show off his work before he leaves and talk about the platform we are building.

Alessandro has been able to build a communication channel between web applications running JavaScript and Amazon F1 FPGA hardware. This is the first step towards a transformational change -- hardware accelerated web applications. I have a few students around the globe beginning open-source projects that will contribute to this effort, and I hope to have sponsorship for one of these students through Google Summer of Code.

We'll show off a hardware-accelerated fly-through of the Mandelbrot set, and discuss other opportunities going forward. I hope you can join us. Pizza as usual.
