Welcome to the Choctawhatchee Audubon Society!
We’re a friendly group dedicated to birds, wildlife, and their habitats. Join us for monthly programs in Niceville and bird walks at local hotspots in Okaloosa and Walton counties. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned birder, all are welcome—families too! Come connect, learn, and explore with us!

VETERAN'S PARK SATURDAY MORNING BIRD WALK
Location not specified yetWe will look for resident species such as Great Blue Heron, along with migrating warblers and other birds that stop here prior to crossing the Gulf for the winter. Click on these links to see checklists from years past that give an idea of what might be in the park: 2023, 2024. Meet at 7:30 AM on the north side of the Destin/FWB Convention Center parking lot. Bring water and binoculars; wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and a hat.
You do not have to be an Audubon member to attend. This event is free and open to the public.

We will bird around Karick Lake, visit the Yellow River Water Management Area (Reedy Landing and Carroll Drive access points), and Crestview. Bring water and binoculars; wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and a hat.
