Birding Lakes of Blackwater Forest in North Okaloosa County

Meet at the CEFCO STATION at, 5622 Hwy 4, Baker, at the north end of the parking lot at 7:30 AM. We'll be looking for Red-cockaded and other woodpeckers, flycatchers, and wrens. Wear closed-toed shoes; bring water, binoculars and/or camera.
There is a required DAY-OF PAYMENT PASS of $2 through their website: https://floridastateforests.reserveamerica.com/posProducts.do?contractCode=FLFS Florida State Forest Day Use Fee. They no longer accept cash at the trail entrance.
Call or Text Doug if you plan to attend but may be late. Once in the forest, there is little to no cell service in the Baker and Blackwater area. Please contact Doug if you have questions or concerns. Do not rely on this post if the walk gets cancelled due to the weather conditions. Text Doug!
