Little Creek Woods Saturday morning Bird Walk

Meet at 7:30 am in the CVS parking lot, Oak Creek shopping center, Niceville (1096 E. John Sims Parkway). We will caravan from there to the entrance to the preserve. A second location will be to meet the group at the dirt road entering the preserve at 8:30am, GPS coordinates 30°50'44.0"N 86°17'39.6"W, preserve address 1489 Fox Hill Rd, Defuniak Springs. Little Creek Woods is a private preserve in north Walton County, and owner Bob Reid will lead us on a walking tour of the preserve, which features pastures, forested land with longleaf and other species of pine, a pond, streams, and the many birds that share the habitat. The terrain is not difficult, but total walking distance is about 4.5 miles over 4 hours. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and a hat, bring a sack lunch, water, and bug spray. Don’t forget your binoculars and camera!
