What we’re about
The Christchurch Marketing Meetup is a friendly, relaxed group for marketers interested in sharing their ideas, skills, knowledge and expertise with others.
Whatever experience you have, we believe everyone can learn from each other. So whether you’re a seasoned marketing professional or a marketing student, whether you consult, work in-house, freelance or for an agency, and whether you’re a local or just passing through town for a few days, you’re welcome to come along and add to our marketing Meetup mix.
We aim to meet every month, spotlighting a different topic, trend or campaign at each event. Sometimes we’ll invite guest speakers along, other times we might have a mini-workshop or a brainstorming session, but our events are always interactive.
We’re a friendly bunch and our Meetup provides a great opportunity not only to meet new people, but also to build some genuine relationships and catch up with some familiar faces. However, if you’re more of a people watcher and prefer to sit on the sidelines, that’s fine too. Our main purpose is for people to learn, share knowledge and grow.
Because we like people to contribute in some way to our events, we do ask that you tell us a little about your marketing background beforehand – that’s just so that we can keep the focus on marketing and things are relevant to the group. But as you know, marketing’s a broad tent – designers, strategists, illustrators, photographers, digital specialists, account management, copywriters, UX specialists... whatever it is you do, as long as it’s marketing related, we’d love you to join us.
