Stoic Week is an annual event that invites you to ‘live like a Stoic for a week’. It is run online, by Modern Stoicism, and is completely free. This year, it runs from 18 to 24 October.

Stoic Week 2021 - Stoicism and Well-being

This year, Stoic Week focuses on 7 key Stoic ideas that are relevant to well-being, focusing on one theme each day:

  1. Control - there are some things we can control and other things we cannot control.
  2. Emotions - It is our interpretations that affect us, not events.
3.Character and Virtues - The Stoics emphasised 4 key virtues: wisdom, courage, self-control (or moderation), and justice.
4.Caring for Ourselves and Others - From learning how to care for ourselves properly to extending our care to all others
  3. Seeing the Big Picture - Research supports the view that people with values that go beyond themselves are happier than those obsessed with themselves as well as the benefit of being able to change perspective.
  4. Stoic it up! - There are many ways in which Stoicism can help, whatever your level of commitment.
  5. Creating Your Stoic Toolkit - Stoicism is a framework for thinking rationally and ethically about how to lead a good life.
