FRIDAY NIGHT OUT - Vietnamese
Hi everyone,
If you are into Vietnamese food, then join me at 6.00pm on Friday 4 July 2025 for dinner at You Hanoi Me, 123 Victoria Street, Christchurch. This restaurant specialises in Vietnamese cuisine with a modern twist.
The You Hanoi Me Story
Nam Cam, a 3rd cousin of the late Charlie Winston of the dry cleaning empire, opened his first street food stall in a small village 22 clicks out of Hanoi during the Vietnam war. Known famously for his Pho and Espresso Martinis and his ability to impersonate a young Sean Connery, he established himself as North Vietnam’s premier aluminium window specialist after his street stall went into receivership and the fact he just didn’t really sound like Sean Connery.
56 years later we opened this restaurant to celebrate his checkered career and remember Nam Cam as we eat and look out the aluminium window.
I hope you can make it and I look forward to catching up again.
PLEASE REMEMBER to change your attendance if you can no longer make it.
The table is booked under Laurie Shearer for 6.00pm.
Kind regards
Laurie
