Christian Connections Bible Study

Details

We study the Bible together and often go off on related tangents. The study is structured but not rigid. The group studied John’s gospels during 2024-2025. In September we will choose a new book or topics for study. We try to incorporate some group prayer the last 10-15 minutes of our time. I encourage everyone to participate actively in the group discussions, but it’s not a requirement for attending.

Edgewood Church has graciously allowed us to use their facilities for this recurring event. Therefore, our attendees will agree to abide by the church’s Life Group covenant. This will ensure respectful, engaging discussions each week.

__________________________
We all agree to the following ground rules for our group:

  1. Priority: do your best to come to all our group meetings. Please call the leader if you can’t make it. (Leader’s Edit: feel free to note that you will miss on the meetup app.)
  2. Participation: Everyone participates, no one dominates. Try to monitor yourself, but if you fall into either extreme, expect your leader to talk to you about it.
  3. Respect: Everyone has the right to their opinions. All questions are encouraged and respected. When someone else is talking, everyone else listens. Don’t interrupt others with your words or behaviors.
  4. Sensitivity: Show concern and respect for your group members. Understand and respect the fact that people are at different places in their life journeys and circumstances, but we all need God and each other.
  5. Vulnerability: Be open and honest in sharing from your own life. Honor others as they share from their lives.
  6. Availability: We will be there for each other no matter what we are going through. We can always call each other, pray for each other, and speak the truth in love to each other.
  7. Confidentiality: What is said within the group stays within the group. This is the only way we can build trust and go deeper together.
  8. Accountability: We will let others in our group hold us accountable to commitments we make in ways we agree on.
  9. Prayer: We will pray for each other regularly.
  10. Empty Chair: We will reach out and invite others to join us. We’ll work together to make newcomers feel welcome in our group.
  11. Ministry: We will encourage each other to serve others, both within and outside of our group.
  12. Multiplication: We will seek to share the joy of community by promoting group life, inviting others to join in community, and multiplying into more groups as needed.
We agree to the commitments above:
