Dry Run Hike at Deer Creek Canyon

This is a practice hike with full backpacking gear. This is a required hike for those going on the Savage Lake backpacking trip on July 12th.

We will hike with full backpacking gear at Deer Creek Canyon Park up to the top of Plymouth Mountain (2.8 miles one way). Please pack your backpack with everything that you will take on our first backpacking trip. If you are short something, add something to the pack of a similar weight so that you are carrying the actual weight.
We will start at the trailhead at the start time and will take the Meadowlark Trail to the Plymouth Creek Trial (1.5 miles) and then up the Plymouth Creek trail for 0.5 miles to the Plymouth Mountain Trial, and we will then take the Plymouth Trial for 0.4 miles to the Scenic View trail which we will then take to the top of Plymouth mountain (another 0.4 miles).

Start Altitude: 6,100 ft; ending altitude: 7,300 ft. Total distance: 5.6 miles.

Optional lunch afterwards, for those who need to go over some gear issues or just want to hang out, we will meet back at my home in Highlands Ranch (9357 Desert Willow Road, H.R., CO 80129) afterwards to discuss. I will pick up some subs on the way home for lunch or you can grab some food on the way or bring your own lunch.
