Hiking - Pinnacles National Park - East Entrance.

Date: Saturday, Mar 28th.

Meet: 10:30 a.m. by the picnic table next to the trailhead.

Note: It normally takes half an hour to travel from the gate at the entrance to the Bear Gulch Day Use Area parking lot. With any kind of delays, especially if they don't allow cars to proceed beyond the Ranger Station, it might take you a whole hour or longer. Also, there is generally no cell signal once you enter the park, so if you are late, you will have a hard time locating me. Get there as early as you can.

Forecast: 79 degrees, mostly cloudy. Wind 10 MPH.

Shade: 0%.

Distance: About 7.5 miles.

Elevation gain: About 1,900 feet.

Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous.

Duration: About 5 hours.

Scenery: Bat caves, dramatic rock formations and a panoramic view of the Pinnacles area.

Bring: Water, lunch, sun protection and a small LED flashlight. Please do not bring any kind of lanterns!
