About us

The first line from Mark Noll's book The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind reads "The scandal of the evangelical mind is that there is not much of an evangelical mind".

Anti-intellectualism is a rising problem in the Church, with some non-believers seeing Christianity and critical-thinking as being mutually exclusive. Christian Skeptics seeks to combine faith and critical-thinking through historical analysis of the Bible and questions about non-critical doctrine.

We explore:

```
  1. Correlating Biblical events and verses with secular evidence in history and archaeology (and acknowledging when there is a lack of evidence).
  2. Perceived contradictions and inconsistencies, and potential misinterpretations.
  3. What it really means to be a Christian and what is considered to be “critical doctrine”.
    ```

While this group is not really a book club, Jeffery Sheler’s book Is the Bible True? is a crucial introduction for both the information and the mindset.
