Full Moon Night Beach Dive at Perry St Rockpile

Details
Dive the full moon from the beach to a superb site just offshore. The Rockpile is a relatively recent artificial reef that has quickly become a thriving marine habitat. Host now to dozens of reef species, the boulders never fail to surprise divers with cameo appearances by turtles, nurse sharks, rays, moray eels, and cruising tarpon.
We'll meet in the parking area on Perry St, confirm buddy teams, gear up, and hit the surf. Sunset will be around 8:15pm, which is the time we should be entering the water to dive the incoming tide. Bottom time will be around 60 minutes and depths will not exceed 25'. Water temp will be around 86F - just right for board shorts, tee shirts, or dive skins.
Divers must be open water certified and should be trained in night diving techniques. All divers must have a dive light with a suitable secondary light and a tank marker. Lobster hunting is permitted at this site in season but spear hunting is discouraged in group dives.
Parking is reasonable with MasterMeters taking cards or phone apps at approx $4 per hour. No restroom facilities are available but freshwater shower is on site.
