Commemorating Memorial Day With a Bike Tour of Brooklyn

The original traditions of Memorial Day are lost on most Americans but I'd like to try and honor our fallen veterans properly with a bike ride to some war memorials. We'll also walk through Greenwood Cemetery and visit a veteran burial ground. We might even catch a ceremony and hear some bagpipe music.

We'll meet up at the Brooklyn War Memorial in Cadman Plaza Park at 11am and end the ride at Big aLICe Brewery in industry city.

Along the ride we'll visit the historic oil tanker Mary A Whalen and have lunch at Secret Vegan Kitchen pop-up at Principles GI Coffeehouse in Gowanus. From there we'll ride to Greenwood for a stroll and head to Sunset Park from there.
