Details
AI-Augmented Programming in Java: Agentic Systems
As we enter the era of AI-Augmented Programming (AAP), developers stand at the cusp of a transformative shift in software creation and maintenance.
This talk explores how Java and Large Language Models (LLMs) are revolutionizing Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and reshaping developer workflows. We'll dive into the technical challenges and opportunities of integrating AI into coding assistants, using the open-source DevoxxGenie as a case study.Specifically, we’ll examine its limitations and explore how Java Agentic systems could enhance intelligent code retrieval, automation, and reasoning. This is a highly technical session, offering a deep dive into the current state of Stephan's open-source work and the future of AI-driven software development in Java.
Stephan Janssen is a passionate developer organising tech conferences (like Devoxx Belgium and supporting Voxxed Days events around the world) and recently working on an open source AI Assistant named DevoxxGenie @ http://github.com/devoxx/DevoxxGenieIDEAPlugin
