Online"But What Will People Say?" — A Conversation Series on Culture, Love & Self- Hosted by Best Self Forward
Let’s be honest — when we meet new people, it’s not always easy to move beyond small talk.
This book club style online conversation series is an invitation to connect more consciously around topics many of us feel deeply, but don’t always have space to talk about — especially through a South Asian lens.
We’ll be reading But What Will People Say? by Sahaj Kaur Kohli, a South Asian therapist who explores how cultural expectations, family stories, and our own inner voices shape how we love and how we show up in relationships.
This space is for South Asian singles who are curious about themselves, open to reflection, and ready for real conversations that go a little deeper than “So, what do you do?”
At the moment, we’ll be focusing on one chapter per meetup, held once a month. The frequency may change as we move forward.
For our upcoming session on Saturday, November 15, we’ll be exploring Chapter 1 — Our Stories Matter Too.
In this session, we’ll reflect on themes and thoughts that emerge from this chapter — how our stories shape who we are and how we move through love, family, and culture.
I’ll be facilitating the discussion and guiding light conversation prompts to help everyone engage comfortably.
Disclaimer: This is not group therapy, counseling, or legal advice. It’s simply a space for thoughtful reflection, conversation, and community connection.
What to Expect:
- Guided reflections and open discussion based on the book
- Opportunities to connect with like-minded South Asians in an intentional space
- Conversations that touch on family, relationships, and cultural dynamics
